President

Joe Bobeck has been the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Great Lakes Financial Group, LP since 1993.  Mr. Bobeck graduated Cum Laude from Youngstown State University with a BS in Business Administration.  He continued his graduate studies at YSU, following the passage of his CPA certificate.  Mr. Bobeck worked for the National Accounting Firm, Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Shortly thereafter, he became CFO and Treasurer of Associated Estate Realty Corp, a public REIT. 

He is currently a member of the board of Playhouse Square Foundation, Historic Gateway Neighborhood, Historic Warehouse District and a class participant of the 2002 Leadership Cleveland organization. Mr. Bobeck is also current member of the MBA, NOAA, Ohio Housing Council, Michigan Housing Council and various other boards. 

Chief Operating Officer

Howard Passov has more than 30 years experience in real estate development activities, mechanical contracting (plumbing and heating) construction, syndication and mortgage finance. Prior to joining Great Lakes, Mr. Passov worked for a wide range of companies in different capacities. Starting with City Mechanical Corporation in 1962, he helped to develop over 1800 multi-family units.  He then joined Forest City Enterprises as General Manager, and was responsible for all of their construction renovation of in-house authority and single-family units outside of the corporation.  In 1988 Mr. Passov formed his own firm H.P.I. Investments, Inc., which has focused in on the acquisition of existing shopping centers, office buildings and multi family units.

Mr. Passov joined Great Lakes Financial Group in 1994 and became chief operating officer in 1999.

Chief Investment Officer

Jeff Ross joined Great Lakes Financial Group as the Chief Investment Officer in 2001.  Prior to joining Great Lakes, Mr. Ross spent 12 years in a variety of financial positions with The Richard E. Jacobs Group and First Union Real Estate Investments, both Cleveland based real estate developers. 

He began his career working for the Cleveland office of Ernst & Young as a Certified Public Accountant from 1985 through 1989.  Mr. Ross graduated cum laude from John Carroll University in with a BS in Accounting and obtained his MBA from Baldwin Wallace College.
